Character
cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial
and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success
achieved.
--
Helen Keller
Whether
engaged in Psychotherapy or Life Coaching, these are the fundamental
premises within which I work.
 |
We
are spiritual beings having a human experience. |
 |
Inherent
within each one of us, and ultimately guiding us, is the Divine. |
 |
Disconnection
from this knowledge is the source of all our suffering. |
 |
As
spiritual beings seemingly “stuck” in these limited bodies, we
organically develop though various stages of experience and
consciousness.
|
 |
Human
development takes most of us through a process of “becoming a
separate somebody.” |
 |
Then
by choice or circumstance, we are asked to surrender all that we think we are
in order to “remember” and experience our oneness with the Divine
and each other.
|
 |
Blocks
can stop this "remembering" and cloud our path – clearing these allows
our natural transformation to continue to unfold.
|
 | I
do not have your answers; I help you find them in your
Divinely Human Self. |

Psychotherapy
There
are many different perceptions and experiences of psychotherapy.
In the last ten years Psychotherapy has been required by insurance
companies to adopt disease-based diagnosis and standard interventions that will
“cure” your symptoms.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
I work with psychiatric diagnosis, but I also
view
symptoms and “problems” within the larger perspective of our spiritual
development. If we listen deeply enough to these symptoms, they will
most times reveal where and why we are blocked internally – divulging
the usually false core beliefs we have about ourselves, others and the way we
think life should be!
As
relational beings, our identity easily gets distorted and conditioned by
the human experiences we have. In
order to release or undo our limited self-identities, we may need to visit
some of the places you’ve been on your journey.
For a time we may need to focus on painful or difficult places in
your past. Not to relive, blame or attempt to change, but rather to
accept, find meaning in, integrate and free your energy to evolve forward.
With this renewed energy, identification of your strengths and
gifts naturally occurs, allowing healing, growth, real and lasting change.
As
internal conflicts and struggles resolve, we are able to turn our
attention away from our personality and toward our greater aspirations and
interests in our families, communities and the world. |
|
I
offer my assistance to fellow travelers on this journey.
Using an array of
tools, we unblock whatever is in the way of the natural, inherent healing
power of your Self – your Divinity.
As
each person’s Journey is unique and different types of support are
needed along the way, I am available to work with you as a
Psychotherapist
or as a Life Coach. Although
my fundamental approach to both of these specialties is
as outlined,
the particular place you are on your journey and where you want to go
would determine the best way for us to work together. |
Addiction
& Recovery
Addictions of all sorts are the
predictable outcome of our estrangement from ourselves, others and the
Divine. Often before we can more consciously keep walking our
journey, we have to lay aside our “false gods” and “substitute
relationships” -- whether
the bottle, the needle, food, sex, spending or any other compulsive
activity that enslaves you.
As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor,
I can support you in your recovery process.
The 12 Steps offer a tried and true way to recovery and are
completely in sync with Becoming Divinely Human.
Where necessary, I can help to translate the Steps when
preconceived notions about “God” and/or the language of AA gets in
your way.
